Question: What type of payment is accepted for Recreation Dept. fees?
Answer: The Department accepts cash, check, or credit card, ( Visa/Master Card ).
Question: When does the Dept. distribute program fliers?
Answer: There are four fliers distributed throughout the year.
The Winter flyer comes out in early January.
The Spring flyer comes out in mid-March
The Summer flyer comes out in late April.
The Fall flyer comes out in early October.
The flyers are distributed through the elementary schools in the MCP School District.
All flyers are available on-line at middletonrec.org.
Question: What is the process for booking a park shelter at
Lakeview or Firemens Park?
Answer: There are two ways to check availability of park shelters.
Call the Rec. office, or go to middletonrec.org, click on park shelters,scroll down to the park of interest,click on that park,scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on current reservations.
Once you have chosen a shelter and date, call the Rec Dept. so the paperwork can be sent to you. You will be given a week to return the fee and paperwork.
Question: How far in advance can you book a park shelter?
Answer: Shelters can be booked no more than one year in advance.
Question: Which City parks allow the consumption of alcohol?
Answer: Lakeview and Firemens Park are the only two parks in the City that allow beer and wine.
Question: Is it necessary to reserve a park shelter if you want to use it?
Answer: Park shelters can be used if they are not reserved. In general, it is highly unusual to find a shelter empty during the Summer, on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.
Question: How does one know if a participant fits the age classification for a program/class?
Answer: The age of a participant on the first meeting date of the class is the determining factor.
Question: How does one find out about recreational opportunities, in the City, that are not affiliated with the Rec Dept?
Answer: Go to middletonrec.org, and click on related links.
Question: Does a membership at the Walter R. Bauman Aquatic Center include use of the indoor pool at Middleton High School?
Answer: The membership does not carry over. The indoor pool is run by the MCP School District, while the Aquatic Center is run by the City.
Question: What methods can be used to register for a Rec. Dept Program?
Answer: The best method for registration is on-line.
A registration form can also be mailed in, or it can be done in person.
